Within a decade of its existence, the California technology company Sonos has become the face for whole-house audio category. Reinforcing its market position, Sonos has announced a partnership with Google Play to bring the streaming service into the company’s growing portfolio of entertainment solutions.

The addition of the Google Play music service brings the amount of streaming services Sonos offers to 32 in the U.S. and 48 globally. Sonos points out that through the Google Play service, homeowners will be able to blend their music libraries with the service to enable them to stream all of their favorite music from one location to any zone within their homes. Moreover, Sonos points out, Android device owners can stream their favorite songs direct to their Sonos products via their Google Play apps.

To integrate Google Play and music libraries, Sonos explains it is as easy as selecting the “Cast” button on the app. That action will produce a list of the sonos grouped rooms and users can then select the room to play the song in.
